Cocoa & Fig mini desserts included Chocolate Cake Lollipops, Raspberry French Macarons, Raspberry Swirl Cheesecakes, Caramel Tarts Topped with Chocolate, Tiramisu Dessert Shooters, and White Chocolate Dipped Strawberries.

Thanks to photographer Athena Pelton for sharing some images of the event, and welcome baby Faye!

Welcome Baseball Season

In honor of baseball season and today's home opener, here are some festive treats we did with a MN Twins theme.  We made cutout cookies in the shape of Mauer's jersey and baseballs with icing stitching along with cookies with an edible Twins emblem on them.  The cupcakes were topped with flat baseball circles made from fondant.

Good luck Minnesota Twins - hope you have a great season!

Cow Cake for Samantha's 2nd Birthday

Cocoa & Fig was asked to make a specialty cake for a very dear friend's daughter, named Samantha.  All she wanted for her 2nd birthday was "cows."  When asked if there was anything else she wanted she replied, "baby cows".  Well, then what would be more fitting for her cake than a baby cow?  So here is what we came up with. It's about 6 layers of cake and buttercream that was covered with white fondant along with colored fondant accent pieces.  We also airbrushed some pink rouge on her for the party.

We hope you enjoyed your baby cow Samantha!  And we can't wait to hear what you would like for your 3rd birthday!

FOUND // The Art of Wedding Event Photos

Last month, we participated in FOUND // The Art of Wedding, an event hosted by Photogen Inc. and Rivets and Roses at 514 studios in Minneapolis.  With over 300 guests stopping in throughout the evening, it was a fantastic night of artistic decadence.

FOUND was organized to celebrate local talent working to elevate weddings to an art form and introduces engaged couples and Twin Cities' art lovers alike to their work.

To mimic the black and white photography by Photogen Inc and Rivets and Roses that was showcased, Cocoa & Fig created a dark and white dessert spread of cake lollipops, mini cupcakes, French macarons, and house-made oreo cookies.  Other beautiful art installations at the event were done by Munster Rose, Paperista, Capture Studios, and Tara LaTour.

Check out these amazing photos from the event by Rivets and Roses.
