Thanksgiving Pies at Cocoa & Fig

November is upon us, and Cocoa & Fig has decided the best way to get into the Thanksgiving spirit is by making pies! We've been baking and taste-testing the last couple of weeks, and we've come up with the best-of-the-best pies to complete your Thanksgiving spread! We will be offering four delicious types of pies, all 9" in diameter.  Think of your Thanksgiving pie favorites, but with a Cocoa & Fig twist, of course!

 Apple Crumble Pie - Our signature flaky and buttery crust, filled to the brim with fresh sliced apples, sugar and spices, and topped with an abundance of delicious streusel.

 Double Crust Apple Pie - Two layers of our amazing pie dough encase freshly sliced apples that have been mixed with our homemade caramel and spices.  The two crusts are gently pressed together (so that delicious filling stays put) and then a generous sprinkle of cinnamon sugar is added to the top.

 Bourbon Pecan Pie - You've never tasted a pecan pie as delicious as this one! Starting off with our homemade crust, our secret recipe includes a mixture of brown sugar, bourbon, and over half a pound of pecans!

 Pumpkin Pie - Smooth and creamy, with just the right amount of pumpkin and spice flavor.  This pie will help to round out any Thanksgiving meal - just make sure to save plenty of room because you'll probably want seconds.

Blush Pink & Gold Dessert Table: Mindy and Thomas

Mindy and Thomas had a stunning wedding at Villa Bellezza in Pepin, WI which included an 8' Cocoa & Fig miniature dessert table!  The color palette of blush pinks, gold and ivory worked perfectly with the venue and also their dessert choices.

Congratulations to the happy couple! Special thanks goes to Melissa Oholendt for sharing these gorgeous pictures with us!

The centerpiece of the dessert table was a 3-Tier Centerpiece Cake covered in a pale pink fondant with gold accents. Mindy and Thomas chose different flavors of cake for each tier. The top tier was a rich chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream, the second tier was a carrot cake with cream cheese icing, and the bottom tier was a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream. For the mini desserts, the selection included Mini Key Lime Pies, Butterscotch Budino Dessert Shooters, Raspberry and Salted Caramel Macarons, Fresh Fruit Tartlets, Peanut Butter Cake Lollipops, and Black Velvet Mini Cupcakes.

Mixed Metallic Wedding Dessert Table: Elizabeth & Corey

Elizabeth and Cory had a stunning wedding on Memorial Day which included a 16' Cocoa & Fig miniature dessert table!  They went with a mixed metallic color palette with lots of candles and amber lighting.

Their dessert spread included Vanilla Salted Caramel and Carrot Cake Mini Cupcakes, Pistachio and Raspberry French Macarons, Dark Chocolate and Key Lime Dessert Shooters, Chocolate Chunk Cookies, and Lemon Meringue Tartlets.

Cocoa & Fig Buttercream Icing Styles

At Cocoa & Fig, a buttercream cake is a classic celebration cake with 3 layers of cake, 2 layers of buttercream filling along with a layer of buttercream icing on the exterior of the cake.  The exterior buttercream can be styled just enough to make the cake look festive and beautiful.  Fresh flowers, fruit, bunting, or a cake topper are a nice finishing touch, or if you prefer, we can write a personalized inscription on top.

Minnesota Wild Jersey Groom's Cake

Krista, the bride, wanted to surprise her groom with a fun, hockey-themed groom's cake, and we were excited to take part!  We sculpted a Minnesota Wild jersey out of cake and decorated it with fondant including the name & number of his favorite player, Parise.  A small hockey puck cake was added to round out the theme.

Pretty Pink Birthday Cake and Dessert Table with Macaron Towers

What an adorably cute (and PINK) first birthday celebration for Faye!  The dessert table featured Cocoa & Fig sweets including a 3 tier Lemon Raspberry cake & 5" Smash Cake, Raspberry and Vanilla French Macaron Towers, and Fresh Fruit Tartlets.
