New Cupcake Tower

We've added a new cupcake tower to our lineup. We still have the traditional square design and now we have a small stand that's round. This tower is perfect for smaller gatherings requiring less cupcakes. It can hold anywhere from 40 to 90 cupcakes, making it the best choice for birthdays, anniversaries & baby showers. We decorated this one in hot pink, brown and green, but we customize them to suit any occasion or color scheme.

Stripes & Bows Wedding Cake

We decorated this elegant 4-tier wedding cake with hand painted stripes and bows. The bottom of each tier is trimmed with a black satin ribbon in keeping with the black & white wedding theme. The couple's initials were used as the cake topper.

The design for this cake was inspired by a photo the bride found in a magazine. Flavors included alternating layers of dark chocolate fudge and vanilla bean cake with caramel and mocha icing.

Congratulations Melissa & Russ!

Gift Box Cupcakes

Cupcakes are still one of our most popular desserts. There's just something about enjoying a cute little cupcake. For this event we made individual gift boxes out of fondant. When they were all lined up they looked like 100s of little presents.

Beautiful Fall Wedding

We had the pleasure of catering a beautiful fall wedding at the end of September. The ceremony and reception were held at the client's home in Stillwater. Their wooded lot was the perfect backdrop for the rustic yet elegant theme. Rich reds, oranges and yellows used for the linens and flower arrangements added to the overall feel.

Tent with guest tables and seating.

Place settings at each table.

Fall Is In The Air

Fall is officially here. Not just because it's after September 21, but because you can feel it in the air. Last weekend was absolutely beautiful, it was above 80 degrees on Friday! But this week there is a slight chill in the air. The kind that makes you run back in to grab a fleece before heading outside. The kind of chill that, although we would never admit it, Minnesotans wait for all year. I love the summer just as much as you, but there is something so refreshing about fall. I might change my tune as the dreaded winter sets in... but for now, I'm loving the fall!

Tape Measure Cake

What do you get for the guy that has everything? That's the question I ask myself every year as my Dad's birthday rolls around. He has enough ties, socks, and dvds. And gadgets..... I think he has a garage, no wait 2 garages full of gadgets along with the shed and storage locker. So this year I decided to think outside the box. I decided to think in cake (which is usually how I think best anyway!). Here is the shiny (and very realistic) cake I created for my Dad. Happy Birthday Dad (Dick Pyle)!

Yes, this is actually a cake. It's vanilla bean cake with vanilla bean icing.

Hibiscus Cupcakes

What do you order for dessert when having a Hawaiian themed party? Why Hibiscus Flower Cupcakes!! We created these little hibiscus flowers to top our yummy cupcakes. Flavors include vanilla bean with vanilla bean icing, dark chocolate fudge with chocolate satin icing and carrot cake with lemon cream cheese icing.

Here's some wonderful feedback from the client:

"Hi Laurie! Just wanted to drop you a note to tell you that the cupcakes were perfect! They were as cute as could be and as you could tell, worked out as both the centerpieces and dessert! The flavors were all a hit---I had chocolate and ate every crumb and petal! My grandchildren each had one also after the shower. Luckily one is a chocolate lover and one is a vanilla lover, as there was only one chocolate cupcake left!!! My granddaughter wanted to keep the flower (because it was SO pretty) to put up in her new room.....she's going to be 7 next month!!!"

In Season: Corn

It's that time of year again! Time for Corn on the Cob, Roasted Corn Chowder, Cornbread Muffins, Corn & Blueberry Pancakes, Sweet Corn Succotash, Creamy Corn Pudding..... I could go on. Corn is one of those magical foods that goes well with just about anything. Check our Farmer's Market booth for fresh corn items like Bacon, Corn & Cheddar Quiche and Mixed Berry Corn Muffins!
