When Lindsey and Nick told us about the term they had coined for their wedding - "urbustic" (urban-rustic), we knew that we were going to have a blast designing their wedding cake for the big day!  This three tier cake design incorporated a modern fondant ruffled tier, two solid gold tiers, and also one of the cutest cake toppers we've ever seen.  Enjoy the pictures of these two lucky ducks and their wedding cake!

4 Tier Wedding Cake with Jewels and Skulls for Sean and Ben

With such a demand for our gorgeous dessert tables, it's rare that we get an opportunity to design and create a large cake for a reception.  So imagine our delights when Sean and Ben came to us for their wedding cake.  Their formal reception at The Landmark Center in St Paul was the perfect backdrop for this 4 tier stunner, enrobed in white fondant and adorned with white, black, red and gold sugar jewels.  We also included little silver skulls on the cake that matched the cufflinks worn by Sean.

A reception would not be complete without a Cocoa & Fig dessert table!  Mini desserts were set up towards the end of the evening and included Black Velvet Cake Lollipops, Dark Chocolate Dessert Shooters, Very Berry Dessert Shooters and White Chocolate Dipped Rice Krispie Treats.

Sara and Moody's Wedding Cake of Travels Together

Sara and Moody are a fun, adventurous couple that love to travel!  They were very hands-on in the design of their 3 tier wedding cake - they wanted it to be a representation of all their favorite travel destinations.  The result - an elaborate and fun cake with destinations including Egypt, Miami Beach, Monaco, Monte Carlo, and Minneapolis.  We also included 3D elements like a sculpted red vespa scooter, a little pair of flip flops, and poker chips all made out of fondant.  And we got a kick out of the wedding topper that the couple found with a soccer playing groom and his fan bride.  What a unique wedding cake for this amazing couple!

There were also a variety of miniature desserts to surround the cake which included Key Lime and Tiramisu Dessert Shooters, Chocolate and Vanilla Cake Lollipops, Black Velvet Mini Cupcakes, and Chocolate Covered Strawberries.

The modern and stylish reception at the Edina Westin looked like a fabulous setting for a celebration - I'm sure all of the guests had a blast!

Modern Dessert Table for a Wedding at the Walker Art Center

The dessert table for Dara and Barry's wedding reflected the clean and modern style of the Walker Art Center, and had a chic, 3-tier wedding cake as the centerpiece. The cake was decorated with cascading round disks in shades of gray and purple which went perfectly with the Valrhona chocolate bouchons and purple tinted French macarons.  Simple, modern and stunning!  The gorgeous photos were taken by Eliesa Johnson of Photogen Inc.
