Teddy Bear Baby Shower Cake & Cupcakes

Baby shower cakes are so much fun. They're always so darn cute and cuddly. I'm glad I don't have to stick around and cut into them! We created this teddy bear themed baby shower cake and matching cupcakes for a client we met at the Minneapolis Farmers Market on Sunday.

The mother-to-be is having a boy, so shades of brown and blue seemed appropriate. The cake flavor was Almond Cake with Raspberry Buttercream... yum!

This cute teddy bear cake topper was molded from fondant. Joe has a lot of fun making cute little animals.

Four dozen cupcakes were also included in the order for guests to enjoy. Cupcake flavors included: Coconut Cake with Lemon Cream Cheese Icing & Valrhona Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Buttercream.

We received some wonderful feedback as well:

"I just wanted to thank you so much for the wonderful job you guys did for the baby shower. The new mom to be said a picture of the cake will be going in the baby book. The teddy bear was so cute, and the cupcakes were delicious. The coconut with lemon cream cheese was my favorite, and everyone thought the chocolate icing tasted like ice cream."

Black, White & Pink Wedding

This was another fun wedding for us! The colors for this wedding were elegant black, white and pink. We delivered this custom cupcake tower and cupcakes to the Hotel Sofitel in Bloomington.

Our 3-foot square cupcake tower makes quite a statement! The tower held 180 regular sized cupcakes and an 8-inch cake topper finished the look. Cupcake flavors included Vanilla Bean Cake with Chocolate Buttercream and White Butter Cake with Vanilla Bean Buttercream.

Black Velvet Baby Cakes were positioned on either side of the tower.

The 8-inch custom cake topper included a piped design that matched the couples' wedding invitation.

Peacock Themed Wedding

Wedding Season is in the air. I know this because we've been working around the clock to produce some fabulous wedding desserts. The miniature dessert buffet is a big hit this year and we just love putting together a fabulous table display. The theme for this wedding was bright peacock colors in deep purples, turquoise and pinks. Fresh flowers were used around the display pieces to integrate the whole design.

Our round cupcake tower served as the centerpiece for the buffet. The 6" cake on the top is decorated in the purple and turquoise to match the reception colors. Black Velvet Baby Cakes fill the tower.

Poker Cake

Is it just my imagination or have we been making a lot of cakes lately? We absolutely adore creating cakes and cupcakes for themed events. Remember those adorable little Flip Flop Cupcakes we created back in April? The same client called us to help with her husband's surprise 40th birthday party. He's a big poker fan, so what could be better than a Poker Cake?

Our very talented new pastry assistant, Andrea, took the lead on this cake. Check out all the details! Playing cards, poker chips and the cigar were all made from fondant.

The hand on top of the cake is a full house: three 10s and 2 5s symbolizing the 40th birthday! Happy Birthday Scott!

Hockey Cake

We created another hockey themed cake! I guess hockey really is popular in Minnesota! This cake was for a repeat client. We've also created baseball and basketball cakes for their family. Do you think they like sports?

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Spring Girls Night Out Event at Juut Salon Spas

We received a call from Juut Salon Spas a couple of weeks ago asking if we would supply the desserts for their Spring Girls Night Out Event. You might remember that we catered the first Girls Night Out Event for Juut last fall. For this gathering they wanted something fun and springy. Our colorful Cupcake Pops in painted terra cotta pots were just perfect! Fresh Fruit Tartlets and French Macarons in Caramel and Pistachio finished out the look. We delivered these tasty creations to all 7 Twin Cities locations.

We received wondeful feedback:

"Your presentation was absolutely beautiful and delish as always! Juut and our guests truly appreciate great design and having a caterer that continually offers fresh and artful ideas has made me elated to say the least. Kudos again!"

Pink and Green Wedding Cake

We created this darling 2-tier cake for a wedding reception with a circle theme. We delivered the cake to The Lexington in St.Paul. The pink and green fondant ribbons were inspired by the ribbon used for the favor boxes. The monogram emblem on the top tier was used on the invitations and menu cards as well.

Baby Blue Baby Shower

We were asked to cater a baby shower this past weekend with a baby blue bird theme as the mother to be is carrying a boy! Above is a sample of the shower invitations that were sent to the guests. We were so inspired by their beauty, we decided to make a replica in cake!

We provided the food as well and I managed to get a few good shots!

Garlic & Herb Grilled Shrimp Skewers with Pineapple Salsa
